The municipality belongs to the arrondissement Castelsarrasin and the canton Pays de Serres Sud-Quercy (until 2015: canton Bourg-de-Visa ). The inhabitants are called Touffaillois .

Touffailles is about 37 kilometers northwest of Montauban . Touffailles is surrounded by the neighboring communities of Montaigu-de-Quercy in the north, Lauzerte in the east, Montagudet in the south-east, Miramont-de-Quercy in the south, Fauroux in the south-west and Lacour in the north-west.
