The Knebelsrod rises in the north of the castle forest. Its summit is 1.4 km southeast of Friedrichshausen , 2.5 km southwest of Haubern and 1.8 km northeast of Willersdorf , three districts of Frankenberg , and 2 km (as the crow flies ) west-northwest of Römershausen , a district of Haina .
Landesstraße 3073 runs over the northern high elevations of the elevation at a height of at most a little more than 400 m between Friedrichs- and Römershausen. While the summit region and southwest flank are used for agriculture, the remaining flanks are mostly forested.
