Dainrode is a district of Frankenau in the north Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .
Geographical location
Dainrode is located in the Kellerwald on the edge of the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park . The federal highway 253 runs through the village . The Eder tributary Lengelbach flows through it .
history
Between 1197 and 1200, Reinbold von Dragenrode appeared in a document from Fritzlar Provost Gumbert von Fritzlar for the Haina monastery . The family of Dragenrode (Dainrode) was mentioned as early as the 12th century. In 1214 the place is mentioned again in a document (other sources also mention the year 1200 as the first mention), when Count Heinrich von Ziegenhain approved the acquisition of goods by the Haina monastery in a document . In the Star Wars , which began in 1372 and only ended at the end of the century, Dainrode was devastated and only rebuilt in the 15th century. From 1571 and afterwards the place belonged to the Geismar court .
During the time of the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia , from 1807 to 1814, Dainrode was administered by the Canton of Frankenau . From 1821 to 1848 the place was part of the Frankenberg district . From 1848 to 1851 Dainrode was administered by the Marburg district. In the year 1851 to 1974 the place was again in the Frankenberg district.
When the first church was built is not documented. The foundation stone for today's church was laid in 1833.
On 1 January 1974 Dainrode was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse powerful state law in the city Frankenau incorporated . For Dainrode, as for the other parts of the city, a local district with a local advisory board and local councilor was set up.

In surviving documents, Dainrode was mentioned under the following names (the year it was mentioned in brackets): Dainrot, (1214); Theynrade, Deynrode, (1343); Denrade, (1438); Danrode (1577). "Danroda" and "Dainroda" are also mentioned as other place names.

- Grauwacke has been mined in a quarry near the village since the First World War .
- Dainrode belongs to the Evangelical Parish of Geismar.
