Karaköprü is a municipality in the Turkish province of Şanlıurfa, founded in 2012 . It emerged from a division of the central city district ( Merkez ). Karaköprü includes the northern parts of the city of Şanlıurfa with the neighboring villages and has 115,733 inhabitants. Besides the city of Şanlıurfa, 86 villages belong to Karaköprü.
