Karl Nicola (born December 3, 1939 in Freiburg im Breisgau ) is a German politician ( SPD ). From 1972 to 1992 he was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg and from 1974 to 1998 mayor of the community of Weisweil .

Life

After attending the Progymnasium in Kenzingen and the commercial school in Emmendingen , Nicola completed commercial training in a company in Weisweiler, which he completed in 1957 with an examination as an industrial clerk. He then worked for several years as head of accounting in the industry. He later took up a job as a pension advisor in Weisweil.

Nicola has been a member of the SPD since 1961. For several years he was chairman of the local SPD association in Weisweil and from 1964 deputy chairman of the SPD district association in Emmendingen.

From 1965 he was a councilor in Weisweil and a district councilor in the district of Emmendingen . From 1974 to 1998 he was mayor of the community of Weisweil.

In the state elections in 1972 , 1976 , 1980 , 1984 and 1988 Nicola was elected as a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg, to which he belonged continuously until 1992. He represented the second mandate of the constituency of Emmendingen in all election periods and was, among other things, chairman of the committee for rural areas in parliament.

Karl Nicola is married and has two children.
