Karl von Buchka (born September 23, 1885 in Göttingen , † February 11, 1960 in Freiburg / Elbe ) was a German politician ( DVP , NSDAP , CDU ).

Life

Buchka was a son of the chemist of the same name Karl von Buchka and his wife Adelheid geb. from Plato . He studied law in Göttingen and had been a member of the Corps Bremensia since 1904 . The doctorate lawyer Buchka was since 1905 as a law clerk and later as Executive Council operates. He took part in the First World War from 1914 to 1917 as a soldier . From 1917 to 1920 Buchka was district administrator of the then Blumenthal district . During this time, as a result of the November Revolution on January 11, 1919 , Buchka was temporarily removed from office by the Workers 'and Soldiers' Council. In June 1920 he became a councilor in the East Frisian town of Aurich , where he only worked for a short time. As early as July 10, 1921, Buchka went to the former district of Kehdingen , based in Freiburg / Elbe, as district administrator . He stayed there until August 31, 1932, making him the last district administrator in the district, which in 1932, like the Jork district, became part of the enlarged Stade district. On September 1, 1932, Buchka took up his new position as district administrator of the Goldap district in East Prussia , which he held until 1945.

In 1939 Buchka was co-editor of the Heimatbuch des Kreis Goldap , in the foreword of which it was stated that "the entire idea of ​​home ... in Germany Adolf Hitler had been revived and strengthened". During his time in Kehdingen, Buchka was considered a liberal district administrator and was a member of the DVP . During the National Socialist era , he had been a member of the NSDAP since 1933 ( membership number 1,683,854) and senior squad leader in the staff of SA Standard 44.

In 1948 he joined the CDU and in 1950 became chairman of the Stade district association. He held the office until 1954 and was also the Lower Saxony state chairman of the CDU's local political association . From 1949 to 1956 Buchka sat in the district council of the Stade district and was deputy district administrator. The sponsorship between the district of Stade and the district community of Goldap, a corporate member of the East Prussian Landsmannschaft , which was concluded in 1952 and still exists today , goes back to his initiative.

Buchka was a member of the German Bundestag from 1953 to 1957. There he was from May 8, 1956 to 1957, deputy chairman of the special committee for the consultation of the Water Resources Act .

Buchka is still an honorary member of the Goldap district community. 1956/57 he was chairman of the interparliamentary working group.
