Karolin Donst (born December 29, 1964 in Berlin ) is a German artist of classical modernism . She dedicates herself to sculpture with a focus on portraits and painting .

Career

After graduating from high school in 1983, the artistic training began in an artist group in Berlin with independent work. In 1988 a four-year apprenticeship in stone carving followed, dealing with architecture and urban planning with a view to restoring historical buildings. From 1993 to 1995 she learned the classical sculpting techniques with modeling in clay in the studio of the academic sculptor Heinz Spilker .

From 1995 to 1997 followed three full-time years as a restorer of natural stone facades in Berlin. She has been working as a freelancer since 1997 and has taken on her first public contracts from municipalities and organizations. The work is carried out in different materials such as bronze , cold bronze , artificial marble , cast metal and wood .
