The Kazanka ( Russian Каза́нка ; Tatar Казансу / Qazansu) is a 142 km long left tributary of the Volga in the Republic of Tatarstan in the European part of Russia .

The Kazanka rises in the northeast of the Autonomous Republic of Tatarstan near the village of Kazanbash and initially flows in a south and south-west direction. In Arsk it turns in a more westerly direction and flows through the eastern Tatarstan.
It flows in wide curves through the agricultural landscape and finally reaches the outskirts of Kazan . In Kazan, the backwater of the Kuibyshev reservoir on the Volga begins , into which the Kazanka finally flows.
Sights and culture
Which lies at the mouth of the Volga Kasanka in Kazan Kremlin , seat of the government of Tatarstan and architectural as an important example of the connecting elements of the Christian Orthodox - Russian and Muslim - Tatar architectural styles since 2000 part of the UNESCO - World Heritage Site .
In 2005 the Millennium Bridge (Russian Мост Милленниум , tatar. Милленниум күпере / Millennium Küpere) was opened in the course of celebrating the 1000th anniversary of Kazan .
