Kasimir Adolf Karl August Franz Georg Christian Wilhelm von Dewall (born July 11, 1811 in Gießen , † March 25, 1895 in Wiesbaden ) was a Prussian lieutenant general .
Life
origin
Kasimir was a member of the noble von Dewall family and a son of the district administrator of the same name Kasimir von Dewall (1773-1826) and his wife Anna Henriette Wilhelmine, born von Grolmann (1780-1836), daughter of the Privy Councilor Ludwig Adolf Christian von Grolmann (1741-1809) ). His father was Herr auf Schmidthausen near Kleve and on December 2, 1802 in Vienna he was raised to the imperial nobility. His aunt Emilie Katharina Maria Sophie van de Wall (1775-1828) was married to the Hessian minister Karl Ludwig Wilhelm von Grolman .
Military career
Dewall joined the 25th Infantry Regiment of the Prussian Army as a musketeer on July 11, 1828 , advanced to the position of redundant second lieutenant by the end of October 1830 and was placed on the budget on July 24, 1831. From 1833 to 1839 he worked as a teacher at the division school of the 15th Division and on March 22, 1845 he was commanded as an adjutant to the 16th Infantry Brigade . He was promoted to prime lieutenant on July 18, 1846 , and on June 27, 1848 he was appointed adjutant to the inspection of the federal troops. On November 22, 1849, he was promoted to captain in the adjutantage and on April 18, 1850, he was transferred to the Army Department of the War Ministry. On November 14, 1854 he was promoted to major there. He was transferred to the Department of Personal Affairs on April 28, 1857, to which he was aggregated to the 25th Infantry Regiment . On September 4, 1858 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle III. Class with ribbon and awarded the Knight's Cross of the Guelph Order on September 23, 1858 . Promoted to lieutenant colonel on May 31, 1859, he was assigned to the Federal Military Commission in Frankfurt am Main on July 1, 1860 as the second authorized representative . On July 30, 1860, he also received the Knight's Cross of the Leopold Order . He was promoted to colonel on October 18, 1861, and received the Commander's Cross of the Order of the Württemberg Crown on June 13, 1863 . He was transferred to the army officers on June 18, 1865 and promoted to major general. On March 20, 1866 he was awarded the Grand Officer's Cross of the Order of the Oak Crown . On June 17, 1866, he was ordered to go to Berlin and present himself at the disposal of the Minister of War. His salary was set at 3000 thalers a year from September 27, 1866.
On October 2, 1866, he was appointed military plenipotentiary to the commission that met in Frankfurt am Main in accordance with Article VII of the Peace of Prague for the purpose of dispute over the previous federal property. On October 4, 1866 he was awarded the Order of the Red Eagle, 2nd class with oak leaves. He was then on 7 January 1868 the character as a lieutenant general and board for discussion provided. He died in Wiesbaden on March 25, 1895.
family
Dewall married on October 6, 1845 in Darmstadt Marie Zimmermann (1818-1901), a daughter of Carl Wilhelm Zimmermann and his wife Johanna Zimmermann nee Fritsch. The couple had several children:
