biography

In November 1997 Karasińska competed in her first FIS race , followed by her first appearances in the European Cup in January 1999 . Since she concentrated on her sports studies at the University of Krakow , major successes initially failed to materialize. In the 2004/05 season she won the slalom discipline in the European Cup with one win and three second places. On January 9, 2005, a little more than three years after her first race in the World Cup , she was able to win her first World Cup points. Her best World Cup result so far is a twelfth place, achieved on December 29, 2006 at the slalom in Semmering . In 2008 and 2009, she won three races in the Australian New Zealand Cup , which made her first and second place overall.

In 2007 Karasińska won the gold medal in slalom at the Winter Universiade in Bardonecchia and in 2009 at the Universiade in Harbin gold in slalom and bronze in giant slalom. So far she has participated in six world championships ; the best result is the 16th place in slalom at the 2005 World Championships in Santa Caterina . In her only Olympic participation so far, 2006 in Turin , she was 30th in the slalom.
