Katharina Filter (born February 4, 1999 in Hamburg ) is a German handball player who belongs to the squad of the German national beach handball team.

Career

In the club

Katharina Filter started playing handball at HG Norderstedt . From 2014 the goalkeeper attended the handball boarding school of the Danish first division club Viborg HK for one year . Filter then joined the Buxtehuder SV , where she was initially used as a B-youth in the A-youth. With the Buxtehude A-youth she won the German A-youth championship in 2016 and 2017 and took second place in the German A-youth championship in 2018.

During her youth, Filter gained playing experience in the 2nd team of Buxtehuder SV, which competed in the 3rd division . In 2018, Filter switched to second division club HL Buchholz 08-Rosengarten . With the lynx she won the championship in the 2nd Bundesliga in the 2018/19 season. Filter then returned to Buxtehuder SV, where she is a member of the Bundesliga team. In her Bundesliga debut on September 7, 2019, she parried a total of 11 litters from the HSG Bad Wildungen . On the 3rd matchday of the 2019/20 season, she scored her first goal in the Bundesliga.

In selection teams

Katharina Filter made her debut for the German junior national team in March 2017. With this team she took part in the U-19 European Championship 2017 . Filters are currently running for the German national beach handball team, with which they participated in the Beach Handball Euro 2019 and came in ninth.
