Paula Prior (born February 25, 1997 in Buxtehude ) is a German handball player who is under contract with the Bundesliga club Buxtehuder SV .

Career

In the club

Prior was a member of Buxtehuder SV from 1997 , for which she has been playing since the Mini-Mix. With the B-youth, the backcourt player won the German championship in 2014. In 2014 and 2015 Prior won the bronze medal at the German championship with the A-youth. On May 6, 2015, she made her Bundesliga debut against DJK / MJC Trier . In the 2015/16 season she was part of the national division of the women's team. In addition, Prior 2015/16 played for the A-Jugend, with whom she won the German championship. In summer 2016 she switched to SG Handball Rosengarten, which was renamed HL Buchholz 08-Rosengarten a year later . In the 2017/18 season she had a second game right for Buxtehuder SV. She has been under contract with Buxtehuder SV since summer 2018. In the 2018/19 season, however, she was unable to play a game due to problems with the Achilles tendon . Due to this injury, she is not part of the Bundesliga squad in the 2019/20 season.

In selection teams

Prior was a member of the Hamburg state selection, with which she took third place in the 2013 national cup. As part of the event, she was appointed to the All-Star team. In January 2015 she made her debut in the German U18 national team. Prior played for the German national team at the U-19 women's handball championship in 2015 and the U-20 women's handball world championship in 2016 .

At Buxtehuder SV, her father is a manager and her mother is a youth coach. Her sister Lisa plays for Buxtehuder SV in the Bundesliga.
