Katja Horneffer

Katja Horneffer (born August 13, 1968 in Göttingen ) is a meteorologist and television presenter who has a doctorate in the ZDF weather department .

Life

Horneffer grew up as the daughter of Klaus Horneffer in Göttingen , graduated from high school in 1987 in Bremen , studied from 1987 to 1993 in Bonn and received her doctorate in Hamburg in 1996 . She wrote her dissertation in 1996 on the subject of energy and moisture balance in the non-hydrostatic mesoscale model GESIMA with nesting in the regional climate model REMO at the University of Hamburg .

Before Horneffer came to ZDF in Mainz , she worked, among other things, in Munich for Antenne Bayern and in Stuttgart for Südwest 3 Fernsehen . On ZDF, she moderates the weather forecast in the midday magazine and, following the news programs heute and heute-journal, alternately with colleagues from the weather department. Since January 2020 she has been heading the weather team at ZDF.

She is married, has one son and lives in Bensheim .
