Katrin Lang (born September 28, 1982 in Hellmonsödt ) is an Austrian duathlete and triathlete . She is Duathlon State Champion on the long distance (2014) and Age Group Vice European Champion (AG30–34) on the Duathlon short distance (2014).

Career

Katrin Lang was active in athletics as a teenager (distances: 800 to 3000 meters).

In 2011 she started the triathlon. The Upper Austrian studied sports science at the University of Salzburg and she starts for the TriPower Freistadt association .

State Champion Duathlon Long Distance 2014

In April 2014 she became national champion in the long distance at her first duathlon start (10 km running, 100 km cycling and 20 km running).
In June she was able to qualify for her third Ironman start in Klagenfurt, second in her age group and sixth best Austrian in the overall standings, for a World Championship starting place at Ironman Hawaii 2014. In August 2014 she became vice European champion in the duathlon on the short distance (10 km running, 42 km cycling and 5 km running) in the age group women 30–34.

After starting out at Ironman Switzerland in July 2016, knee problems were troubling her. After a year break, Katrin Lang secured the ticket for the 70.3 World Championship in South Africa in September 2018 in the Ironman 70.3 Zell am See-Kaprun with sixth place in the age group 35-39, where she finished 80th in the 35-39 age group .

Today she works as a sports scientist at the Olympic Center in Salzburg-Rif .
