Ken Martin Gipson (born February 24, 1996 in Ludwigsburg ) is a German - American football player . He has been under contract with SG Sonnenhof Großaspach since summer 2019 .

Career

The trained right-back Gipson played in the youth team at VfB Stuttgart from 2010 to 2015 . In 2012, however, he had to take a break for 18 months after injuring himself so badly in a U17 game against 1. FSV Mainz 05 that the game was even abandoned. From the 2013/14 season he was a permanent member of the U19 squad.

In June 2015 Gipson signed a professional contract with RB Leipzig until 2018 . Shortly after the move, he injured himself in training and had to pass at the beginning of the season. He gained his first experience after his injury in seven games for the second team of RB Leipzig in the Regionalliga Nordost . Gipson made his first competitive appearance for the first team on November 1, 2015 in the second division game against SV Sandhausen , in which he also received a yellow card. He had previously been on the pitch in the charity test match against Werder Bremen at the beginning of October, but had to be replaced again due to an injury.

For the 2017/18 season Gipson moves to SV Sandhausen, where he received a two-year contract with an option for another. Since this was not drawn, Gipson left the SVS after only four league games in two years at the end of the 2018/19 season and signed a two-year contract with third division club SG Sonnenhof Großaspach at the end of August 2019 .

Although Gipson has both the German and the US passport, he decided to start in Germany's U15 and U16 national teams.
