Sandro Sirigu (born October 7, 1988 in Ulm ) is a German - Italian soccer player .

Career

In his youth, Sirigu initially played for SB Ulm and FV Senden . From the E-youth he was active at SSV Ulm . As a youngster he was appointed to the first team by former Heidenheim coach Marcus Sorg .

For SSV Ulm he played in the Oberliga Baden-Württemberg and after the league reform in 2008 in the Regionalliga Süd in the fourth-highest division. At the beginning of 2009, Sirigu moved to SC Freiburg and - although he was part of the extended Bundesliga team for a year and a half - only played in the U-23 youth team in the Regionalliga Süd.

For the 2010/11 season , Sandro Sirigu moved to third division club 1. FC Heidenheim . On the first day of the match he was in the starting line-up against FC Carl Zeiss Jena . He completed his first year as a regular player mainly in the right defender position. He was also seeded in the first half of the following season, but in the second half he lost his regular place to newcomer Dennis Malura . Nevertheless, thanks to his help, Heidenheim was the second best defense in the league this season and reached fourth place. At the end of the season, Sirigus' contract with the Heidenheimers was not extended. For the 2013/14 season he moved to SV Darmstadt 98 and received a one-year contract that was extended during the season until the end of the 2017 season. With the "lilies" he managed to march through from the third to the first division within two seasons . Sirigu made his Bundesliga debut on February 20, 2016 in a game against FC Bayern Munich , which was lost 3-1. On the 2nd matchday of the 2016/17 season, Sirigu scored his first Bundesliga goal in the game against Eintracht Frankfurt with the 1-0 winner. At the end of that season, Darmstadt, with Sirigu as a regular on the right wing, was relegated to the bottom of the table in the 2nd Bundesliga. As a result, he was still regularly deployed, but his overall working time was significantly reduced. His contract, which was valid until June 2019, was not extended after relegation in spring 2019.

After several months without a club, the defender received a contract with Chemnitzer FC on the penultimate first round match day of the third division season 2019/20 , which is valid until the end of the season. Initially handicapped by an inner ligament strain, Sirigu was mainly used in the left full-back position at Chemnitz. With the club's relegation to the Regionalliga Nordost, he left Chemnitz again and at the end of July 2020 moved to the Regionalliga Südwest for SG Sonnenhof Großaspach , who were also relegated from the third division.
