Kent Salfi (born June 10, 1971 in Clifton Park , New York ) is a former American - Austrian ice hockey player who spent most of his career in Austria and participated in the 2002 Winter Olympics with the Austrian national team .
Career
After spending four years at the University of Maine , Salfi played two seasons in Sweden for Olofströms IK and Mora IK . He then moved to ETC Timmendorfer Strand in Germany for one season before moving to Austria and in 1996 he was signed by the EC VSV . In the 1997/98 season he was briefly in the Italian Serie A with Asiago Hockey , where he only played three games before returning to the VSV. He stayed with the team until the 2002/03 season before moving to EHC Linz in the Erste Bank Eishockey Liga . In the 2008/09 season Salfi moved to HC Innsbruck .
On August 23, 2010, Salfi announced his resignation. Today Salfi works as a financial advisor in the northeastern United States.
International
Salfi had Austrian citizenship and played for the Austrian national team at the 2002 Winter Olympics in Salt Lake City . He also played for Austria at the 2002 and 2003 World Championships .
