Kerem İnan (born March 25, 1980 in Istanbul ) is a Turkish football goalkeeper . He was Cláudio Taffarel's replacement at Galatasaray Istanbul at the turn of the millennium and during this time he experienced the greatest club successes, winning the UEFA Cup in the 1999/00 season and winning the UEFA Super Cup in summer 2000. Since he was part of this team, which is known as legendary from the club's point of view, he is regarded as an important player in the club's history from the club and fan side.

Career

society

İnan started club football in the youth of Galatasaray Istanbul . Here he received a professional contract for the 1998/99 season, but continued to play almost exclusively for the reserve team. Only towards the end of the season he was used by the then coach Fatih Terim during a cup encounter and thus made his debut for the professional team. The next season he played in the first half of the season for the reserve team and was then accepted into the professional squad for the second half of the season. Here he sat on the bench as a substitute goalkeeper and saw his team win the UEFA Cup . In the summer of 2000 his sponsor Terim left the club and was replaced by the Romanian coach Mircea Lucescu . Inan remained under this coach and won the UEFA Super Cup with his team at the start of the 2000/01 season . The following two seasons he came regularly to competitive appearances as a substitute keeper. In the summer of 2003/04, Fatih Terim took over as coach again at Galatasaray. The German-Turkish goalkeeper Aykut Erçetin , with whom İnan had already competed in the Turkish U-21 national team, was signed for this season . Terim decided after the pre-season camp to give up one of these goalkeepers. The decision was made for Inan.

For the 2003/04 season, Galatasaray İnan gave to the then first division club Çaykur Rizespor . At this club, İnan failed to prevail against the other two goalkeepers Murat Yiğiter and Murat Şahin . Although he made seven top division appearances, he couldn't become the first goalkeeper. So İnan parted ways with Rizespor after just one year and signed on with league rivals Samsunspor . He played for this club for the next two and a half years and was the first goalkeeper for long periods. With this team he was relegated to the second division in the summer of 2006. After a few weeks of the 2006/07 season, İnan was suspended from the squad and put up for sale. So he moved to the third division Beypazarı Şekerspor . This club had just received a financially strong presidium and bought several seasoned professionals such as B. Sergen Yalçın , Ahmet Dursun , Ahmet Yıldırım , Tamer Tuna and Nuri Çolak . After the promotion failed in the last instance for two seasons in a row, the project was abandoned and the expensive players were sold.

So İnan moved to the second division Karşıyaka SK in the summer of 2008/09 . In this team he immediately won a regular place and came with his team to the play-off finals of the TFF 1st Lig . Here they missed promotion to the Süper Lig due to a 2-1 defeat in extra time against Kasımpaşa Istanbul . At the end of the season he left Karşıyaka and moved to the southern Turkish second division club Mersin İdman Yurdu . Here he was the first goalkeeper to play two seasons. In the summer of 2010/11 he rose with this team as champions of the TFF 1st Lig in the Süper Lig. Despite this success, İnan's contract was not extended.

After İnan had not worked for a club for a season after leaving Mersin İY and stayed away from the game, his move to the second division Şanlıurfaspor was announced at the end of the summer transfer period 2012 .

National team

İnan played for the Turkish national youth teams for the first time, during a U18 encounter against the Romanian U18s. Overall, he played twice for the U-17 and eight times for the U-18 national team in his country.

In addition, he completed a total of 13 international matches for the Turkish U-21 national team in 2000 and 2001 .
