Kerstin Gier , pseudonyms Jule Brand and Sophie Bérard (born October 8, 1966 near Bergisch Gladbach ) is a German writer who mainly writes women’s literature and fantasy youth books.

Life

Kerstin Gier studied German , musicology and English before she switched to business education and communication psychology and graduated as a qualified pedagogue . After several occupations , she began writing women's novels in 1995. She lives in Kürten with her husband and son .

Her first book Men and Other Disasters (1996) was filmed in 1999 with Heike Makatsch in the leading role. With the three-volume series on the adventures of Gwendolyn and Gideon in London ( ruby red , sapphire blue and emerald green ), she wrote a youth and fantasy novel for the first time. In 2017, the film adaptation of the novel On the other hand, the grass is much greener .
