action

The chaotic Kati happens to meet the doctor Felix. They instantly fall in love and soon get married. The first time was fantastic, but after five years of marriage, everyday life finally crept in. Felix has now been promoted to senior physician and is increasingly involved in his job. More and more often he transfers Kati to the clinic due to emergencies. When she actually sees him, he is usually so exhausted that he falls asleep.

Then Kati gets to know the artist Mathias. She falls in love with him, but avoids him because she doesn't want to be unfaithful to Felix. Gradually Kati begins to doubt whether Felix is the right man for her and whether she really wants to grow old with him. After all, fate plays a trick on her: After an accident, Kati finds herself five years in the past, exactly one day before she met Felix for the first time.

After accepting to have made a leap in time for some inexplicable reason, she decides to use her knowledge over the coming years to improve a few things, for example in the lives of her friends. Most of all, she tries to avoid Felix so that they don't even get to know each other and everyone can lead their own life. Now unbound, she finds Mathias and starts a relationship with him.

Nevertheless, Kati and Felix run into each other again and again. Not least through a conversation with her friend Frau Baronski, Kati slowly begins to realize that life with Mathias won't be any nicer than that with Felix: Frau Baronski tells her that “the grass on the other side [...] is always greener “Appear. But when you are on the other side, you quickly notice “that it is only grass”.

Kati later wrote a letter to Felix, dazed by accidental drug use. She reveals to him that although he does not know her, she does know him. In a rather confusing manner, she also writes something about his present and future. She throws this letter into his mailbox, still in a drug frenzy. Later, when sober, she regrets it and tries to get the letter back before Felix can read it. At first she succeeds, but in the end the letter falls into Felix's hands.

Mathias now has a new supporter for his art: It is Gereon, Felix's best friend and son of Felix's boss. Kati goes to Gereon's birthday party with Mathias, where she meets Felix again. He found out through Kati's letter that his girlfriend Lilian and Gereon are having a relationship and that they are both cheating on him. He confronts the two and there is a scandal. During the argument, Kati noticed more and more the similarities between herself and Felix. Felix and Kati finally leave the party, followed by Mathias.

Outside, Kati talks to Mathias: Although she has never been as in love as with him, the two of them could not be together. She doesn't know whether Matthias understands, but there is another world that she had long thought lost. Both regret the situation. Finally, with a heavy heart, they part.

Kati turns around and notices Felix. He says he has a lot of questions for her, but most of all he wants to know who she is. She introduces herself as "Kati". Both begin to talk about their future together and move away.

reception

In a dpa review it is said that the film looks like a “ Romantic Comedy ” set, with something for everyone, which is exactly the problem, because no one leads such a clichéd life, not even in Frankfurt am Main, where it all takes place. The dialogues are often wooden, it is said, and the acting, with the exception of Felix Klare , not the most brilliant. Overall, the roles are so stereotypical that it almost hurts a bit, the review continues.
