Kevin Buckler (born February 9, 1959 in Coral Gables ) is a former American racing car driver , racing team owner and winemaker .

Kevin Buckler is the founder and owner of Adobe Road Winery , a winery located in Sonoma , southern California . There high quality red and white wines - including Cabernet Franc , Cabernet Sauvignon and Sauvignon Blanc - are vinified .

Career in motorsport

Kevin Buckler runs his own racing team, The Racer's Group , which was founded in 1992. The team was and is active in various sports car series such as the American Le Mans Series and the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship . In addition, the team was registered with vehicles in NASCAR until 2012 .

As a driver, he began his career in national GT races in the United States in the late 1980s . He celebrated his first successes in 1995 in the IMSA GT series in 1995 , where he won the 1-hour race at Sears Point in a Porsche 911 . It was the first of two overall victories that Buckler could achieve in his career. His second win was his greatest success as a driver in international motorsport. Together with Michael Schrom , Timo Bernhard and Jorg Bergmeister he won a Porsche 911 GT3 RS in 2003 , the 24 Hours of Daytona .

In 2002 he was runner-up overall in the GT class of the American Le Mans Series and in the same year the GT class of the 24 Hours of Le Mans . Buckler was able to celebrate six class wins in his career and finished them after the end of the 2011 season.
