Kevin Dahl began his career as an ice hockey player at Bowling Green State University , which he attended from 1986 to 1990 and for whose ice hockey team he played parallel to his studies in the Central Collegiate Hockey Association . During this period he was selected in the NHL Entry Draft in 1988 in the eleventh round as a total of 230 players by the Canadiens de Montréal , for which he never played. Instead, the defender ran in the 1990/91 season for the Fredericton Canadiens in the American Hockey League and the Winston-Salem Thunderbirds in the ECHL . In the 1991/92 season he mainly took part with Team Canada in its Olympic preparation, after which he played for the Salt Lake Golden Eagles from the International Hockey League until the end of the season . From 1992 to 1996 he was a regular for the Calgary Flames in the National Hockey League , while he was on the ice in a total of 25 games for their farm team Saint John Flames in the AHL.
For the 1996/97 season , Dahl was signed as a free agent by the Phoenix Coyotes . For the team from Arizona, however, he only played twice in the NHL and spent the entire remaining season with their cooperation partner Las Vegas Thunder from the IHL. From 1997 to 2001, the Canadian competed for the IHL team Chicago Wolves , with whom he won the Turner Cup in the 1997/98 and 1999/2000 seasons . In parallel he came to sporadic missions in the NHL for his ex-team Calgary Flames and the Toronto Maple Leafs and Columbus Blue Jackets . Most recently he was active for the Nuremberg Ice Tigers from the German Ice Hockey League from 2001 to 2004 before ending his career at the age of 35.
