Career

Kevin Gardner began his career with the St. Albert Saints in the Alberta Junior Hockey League . From 2000 he played for the Wildcats ice hockey team at Northern Michigan University in the CCHA, a league of the NCAA . He finished his studies with a Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Speech Communication .

After the end of his college days he moved to the North American ECHL for a year with the Idaho Steelheads . After 22 games in Idaho, he was released for defender Tony Johnson to the Stockton Thunder , where he spent the rest of the season. In the summer of 2006 he came to Europe for the first time and played the 2006/07 season with the upper division EV Füssen . The EV Füssen finished the preliminary round only in ninth place and thus missed the entry into the play-offs , Gardner was nevertheless the sixth-best scorer in the league preliminary round with 30 goals and 49 assists. Jan Tabor , the manager of the Eislöwen, commented on his commitment: “Kevin Gardner made a good name for himself last season in a relatively weak team. He is young, capable of development and could certainly make the leap into the 2nd division without any problems ”.

With the Eislöwen he made it to the 2nd Bundesliga and reached the league championship in 2007/08 . With 106 points scorer in 61 games, he made a significant contribution to these successes. From September 2009 he was under contract with the Arizona Sundogs in the Central Hockey League , before he returned to Europe in the summer of 2010 and was signed by the Herning Blue Fox from the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen .

In 2011 he retired from his career and returned to Canada, where he has since worked in a real estate finance company in Edmonton .
