Kevin Stuhr Ellegaard (born May 23, 1983 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish football player .

Athletic career

He played from 2005 to 2007 as a goalkeeper for Hertha BSC . Before that he played for Manchester City , Farum BK , Copenhagen and Brøndby IF . He made his debut in the Bundesliga on January 27, 2007 when he replaced the injured Christian Fiedler.

When asked about his correct name, he said in Kicker Sportmagazin : “My name is not Stuhr-Ellegaard, but Ellegaard. Kevin is my first name, Stuhr is my mother's last name, Ellegaard is my father's last name. And that is decisive. ”The case is similar to that of Jon Dahl Tomasson - other Danes do not mention the mother's maiden name.

For the 2007/08 season he returned to his home country to join the first division club Randers FC . At the beginning of the 2010/11 season he signed the Dutch honorary division sc Heerenveen for a year as a substitute for the injured Brian Vandenbussche . During this time he came to 28 league appearances. After the contract expired, he was initially without a club and kept fit with the Danish club FC Nordsjælland .

At the end of January 2012 Ellegaard joined the Swedish club IF Elfsborg , where he replaced Jesper Christiansen , who had switched to Odense BK , and signed a three-year contract. At first he was only a substitute behind the Norwegian Kenneth Høie , but this left the club in the summer for Djurgårdens IF . Thereupon Ellegaard established himself as a regular goalkeeper and was also in the games for the Europa League qualification between the posts, in which the club failed in the third round at AC Horsens .
