action

Three best friends, Kitty, Estelle and Nicolette - all wealthy millionaire wives - spend their time giving themselves Botox injections, liposuction and various plastic surgery procedures to keep their husbands happy .

When Dr. Bilderberg, owner and chief surgeon of the Bilderberg Clinic, gives a speech, Kitty, Estelle and Nicolette will witness how Marilou Bilderberg kills her husband with a shot between the eyes in front of the assembled party to put an end to his affairs.

Kitty, Estelle and Nicolette envy Marilou for their courage and decide for their part that they too would kill their husbands if they should cheat. Kitty is more or less certain that her husband is cheating on her when she hears him talking to a Pamela on his cell phone late at night. In order to substantiate her suspicion, Estelle hands her friend Kitty a booklet entitled “Adultery - Top 50” (“De Overspel - Top 50”), which contains a checklist of unusual behavior by adulterous men.

After Kitty has rated almost the complete checklist as applicable, the four friends drive to Amsterdam's red light district De Wallen to hire a contract killer who is supposed to kill Kitty's husband Evert-Jan Kroonenberg and make it look like an accident. She struck gold in a bar, but the potential killer, a fan of Cliff Richard , recognized Evert-Jan in the photo as the owner of three music publishers and the largest Cliff Richard collection in Europe. In addition to € 10,000, the killer, who was disfigured with scars on his face, also asked for the first pressing of the title "Summer Holiday", which was published by Columbia Records in 1963 and is in Evert-Jan's possession. Kitty goes into the deal and goes in search of said record .

After taking possession of the record and handing it to the killer, she has her eyelids done. Since she cannot drive a car herself after the treatment, she calls Nicolette's husband Ivo. He picks up Kitty, but has borrowed the Maybach from Evert-Jan, which the killer has agreed to push off the road during the chase through a forest. While Kitty can get out of the wrecked car almost unharmed, Nicolette's husband Ivo is seriously injured and is taken to the hospital. When the three friends are standing at Ivo's bedside, Ivo's girlfriend, with whom he cheated on Nicolette, also appears in the hospital room, and a fight breaks out between the rivals in the course of which the bedside life-support equipment overturns and Ivo dies.

After the funeral ceremony, Evert-Jan decides to scatter the ashes of his friend Ivo from his sports plane over the 18th hole of their joint golf course. The killer disguised as a mechanic manipulates the aircraft so that it loses hydraulic oil during the flight.

Meanwhile, Estelle's husband Meindert is cheating on his wife in his office with Ivo's lover, whom he met shortly before on his deathbed. Meindest stands completely undressed at the office window with his lover to wave to Evert-Jan. Evert-Jan, on the other hand, has already lost control of the plane due to the manipulation of his aircraft, so that he races into the office building and kills the two naked adulterers. Evert-Jan manages to get out of the crashing machine by parachute and he only breaks an arm.

The killer wants to give up because of the two failed attempts, but is motivated by Kitty to make another attempt.

A few days later, Evert-Jan is supposed to give a prize at a Dutch music show, during which the killer is supposed to kill Kitty's husband. Shortly before the show begins, Kitty is introduced to Pamela von Bronckhorst, who was previously unknown to her, as a Belgian businesswoman with whom Evert-Jan is in business contact. Kitty then desperately tries to reach the killer by phone so that he can remove the explosive device from the envelope for the award to spare Evert-Jan's life. The contract killer is meanwhile being pursued by the security forces and tries to escape with a truck that has been stolen from the parking lot. Kitty takes Evert-Jan's fate into her own hands, storms the stage and at the last second manages to tear the prepared envelope from her husband's hand and throw it away before it explodes.

After the explosion, Pamela van Doorn, Evert-Jans' lover storms onto the stage. Both of them are run over on stage by the truck with which the killer breaks through the back wall of the building during the chase with the security forces.

When she reads Pamela's name on her backstage ticket, sees a photo of her and Evert-Jan in her amulet and thus realizes that the killer she has hired has successfully carried out his job, she falls on his neck and kisses him.

A year later, the three widows enjoy their lives on their different husbands' yachts together with the killer, who in the meantime had cosmetic surgery carried out and whose appearance now appears to the satisfaction of the ladies.

criticism

“Three of the four most successful Dutch films of the last 20 years were made by director Dick Maas . No wonder, after all, Maas is also responsible for the entire Flodder series about Eine Familie zum Smutschen . Maas not only directed Killer Babes, he also produced the film, wrote the script and composed the music. The result is a pitch-black comedy that makes The Devil's Club look like a crochet club. "

- Moviepilot.de

“Beauty, youth and consumerism: director Dick Maas takes clichés to extremes, is completely politically incorrect, but also creates a few extremely funny moments. [...] Over-the-top, but entertaining fun. "

- Cinema.de

“A film that couldn't have been more tasteless. Not to mention the level. The main actresses act like Barbie dolls. [...] The film reflects a lot of prejudices against the high society with cosmetic surgeons, outward appearances, youth mania. [...] All in all, the film has nothing profound. Rather, it moves on the surface of the water, if not over it. You shouldn't think that the film was made by Flodder director Dick Maas. "

background

After a six-year break from filming, this film was Dick Maas' first production. At the same time, it is the first film after “ Flodder Forever ” in twelve years that Dick Maas produced in Dutch again.

Originally the film title should have been "The Botox method" (Dutch: "De Botox methode"). However, since Botox is a registered brand name, the film title had to be discarded for legal reasons.

The production budget was € 3,000,000.

On May 28, 2009, the Dutch DVD version, released for children aged 12 and over, was released. In addition to the main film, which is divided into nine chapters, it contains four other extras. This includes a making-of , some outtakes , a video clip by the band Di-rect and the trailer for the film. The Blu-Ray version, which was released on the same day and is also released for ages 12 and up, contains two additional extras in addition to the four extras on the DVD. These are nine visual effects as well as nine backstage contributions , including deleted scenes.
