Kim Geun-ho (born February 5, 1984 in Seoul ) is a South Korean ice hockey player who spent most of his career with Anyang Halla in the Asia League Ice Hockey and has been playing for league competitor Daemyung Killer Whales since 2016 .

Career

Kim Geun-ho began his career as a hockey player on the Kyung Gi High School team . At the age of 18 he moved to Korea University for four years , with which he won the South Korean Ice Hockey Cup in 2003 . In 2006 he was committed by Anyang Halla , one of the two South Korean teams in the Asia League Ice Hockey . Both 2010 and 2011 he was able to win the Asia League with his team, plus two more South Korean Cup wins in 2009 and 2010. After seven years in Anyang, he returned to the amateur field in 2013, where he worked for the Invictus Blazers and the Waves played. Since 2016 he has been participating in the Asia League again with the Daemyung Killer Whales .

International

For South Korea, Kim Geun-ho took part in the junior division of the U18 world championships in 2001 in the Asia-Oceania division and in 2002 in division III as well as in the U20 world championships in 2003 in division III and in 2004 in division II. With the exception of last year, when the promotion to Division I of the U20 World Championships was only missed by a narrow 2-0 defeat against Great Britain, Kim always rose to the next division with his respective teams.

He made his debut in the senior national team of the Asian country at the Men's World Cup in Division II in 2005. His next appearance was four years later , when he scored five goals, eight assists and the best plus / minus balance of the tournament contributed significantly to promotion to Division I. As a result, he played with the East Asians in the title fights in 2010 , 2011 and 2012 in Division I.

At the Winter Asian Games 2011 he won the bronze medal with the South Korean team behind Kazakhstan and Japan . In 2012 he also represented his colors in the Olympic qualification for the Winter Games in Sochi in 2014
