The Theater Pfütze eV is a free theater that was founded in 1986 in Nuremberg .

The focus of the productions of the two-division house (puddle theater and youngMET music theater) lies in the dramatization of important children's novels, often in collaboration with the authors. In addition, in-house productions and modern pieces also find their way into the repertoire.

history

For many years the puddle was on the move as a mobile theater, the first permanent venue was opened in 1997 in Nuremberg- Gostenhof . In November 2007, the Pfütze Theater was able to move into a new building in the center of the city, which was built according to plans by the architect Volker Staab . The new house offers a modern theater hall with space for 220 guests, a café in the foyer and a large forecourt for games and celebrations. The ensemble currently consists of an artistic director, a managing director and seventeen permanent employees (as of 2017).

The four founding members Christine Janner, Regine Oßwald, Jürgeneiling and Christian Schidlowsky called their theater a puddle because children love puddles and because the whole world can be reflected in a puddle. The mobile theater achieved its artistic breakthrough in 1992 with a flame picker and an invitation to the Berlin children's and youth theater meeting .
