action

Shortly before the national elections, the Center Party leads in the polls. Her top candidate is considered the future prime minister, but then suffers a serious car accident together with his wife and is hospitalized with the diagnosis “brain dead”. Among the replacement candidates, the politician Lone Kjeldsen has the best chance due to her popularity among the population. Your party colleague Eric Dreier Jensen ( Søren Pilmark ) would like to be the new top candidate herself. Because he knows that he cannot yet win a vote on the question of the succession, he initially plays for time. He ensures that the brain death of the victim is kept secret in order to postpone the vote. Then he instructs the party press secretary, allied with him, to get Lone Kjeldsen out of the way. Peter Schou ( Lars Mikkelsen ) uses the journalist Ulrik Torp ( Anders W. Berthelsen ) to get Lone Kjeldsen's husband accused by the press of doing fraudulent business abroad. As a result, Lone Kjeldsen's unstable husband commits suicide. The grief and the scandal make her impossible as a top candidate. Now the way is clear for Eric Dreier Jensen . But the journalist Ulrik Torp notes that the information of the " whistleblower " was falsified and that he, Ulrik Torp, caused the death of an innocent man. Although his editor-in-chief fires him and his own father (a retired top politician) turns out to be a friend of Eric Jensen Dreier , Ulrik Torp does everything in his power to prevent Eric Jensen Dreier's success .
