The Kings Park Stadium , also named after the sponsor Growthpoint Kings Park Stadium , is a rugby and football stadium in the Kings Park Sporting Precinct in the South African city of Durban . It dates from 1891 and was extensively renovated and expanded in the mid-1990s. It has a capacity of 55,000 and is mainly used for rugby and football matches.

Rugby Union World Cup 1995
The 3rd Rugby Union World Cup was held in South Africa in 1995. A total of three Group B games took place in the Kings Park Stadium: on May 27, 1995 (England - Argentina), on May 31, 1995 (England - Italy) and on June 4, 1995 (England - Samoa).
Football Africa Cup of Nations 1996
The 20th African Football Championship took place in 1996 in South Africa. Three preliminary round matches, a quarter-final match and a semi-final match took place in the Kings Park Stadium.
Concerts
On October 15, 1997, the final concert of Michael Jackson's HIStory World Tour took place in Kings Park Stadium with 45,000 visitors.
On February 20, 2008, Celine Dion performed as part of her "Taking Chances Tour" at Kings Park Stadium.
