The area Kirbachtal with adjacent areas of Saxony home Häfnerhaslach about Sachsenheim-Hohenhaslach to Sachsenheim small Sachsenheim, Vaihingen-Horrheim and Vaihingen-Gündelbach is a by ordinance of 21 May 2003 the District Office Ludwigsburg been instructed conservation area (LSG number 1.18.099) in the region the cities of Vaihingen an der Enz and Sachsenheim in the Baden-Württemberg district of Ludwigsburg in Germany .

The landscape protection area extends over the valley of the Kirbach . The middle of the approximately 3,908 hectare landscape protection area is located around ten kilometers northwest of the Sachsenheimer and north of the Vaihingen city center. The landmarks with Häfnerhaslach , Hohenhaslach , Kleinsachsenheim , Ochsenbach with Kirbachhof , Spielberg (all in Sachsenheim) and Gündelbach or Horrheim (both in Vaihingen) are indicated on the land maps .
The protected area extends to parts of the Habitats Directive area “Nördlicher Stromberg ” and the bird sanctuary “Stromberg”.
Protection purpose
The main protection purpose is to protect the Kirbachtal with the adjacent areas from Sachsenheim-Häfnerhaslach via Sachsenheim-Hohenhaslach to Sachsenheim-Kleinsachsenheim, Vaihingen-Horrheim and Vaihingen-Gündelbach as a particularly scenic and diverse area with outstanding importance for species and biotope protection and with important functions to protect long-term for recreation and the water balance and to develop sustainably in a nature-friendly way. The diversity and uniqueness of the Kirbachtal with its wet meadows, polluted willow stands, species-rich grassland and arable land and the adjacent areas with poor meadows, orchards, forest and vineyards are to be protected. The landscape-defining components and the landscape should be protected and the area secured as a recreational area for the general public.

Among the flora worthy of protection , in addition to the grove-beech forest and woodruff-beech forest communities, the following plant species (selection) should be mentioned:

From the worth protecting fauna following are species to be mentioned:
- Bechstein's bat ( Myotis bechsteinii ) a species from the smooth-nosed family
- Dusky large blue or blue-black Bläuling ( Maculinea nausithous ), a butterfly (butterfly) from the family of Bläulinge
- Large fire butterfly ( Lycaena dispar ), also from the Bläulinge family
- Heller Wiesenknopf-ant blue , also large moor blue ( Maculinea teleius ), also from the family blue
- Russian bear or Spanish flag ( Callimorpha quadripunctaria ), a butterfly (moth) from the bear moth family
