geography

course

In terms of length and catchment area, the Kirbach comes very close to the Metter at the confluence. The small river runs almost completely on the Sachsenheim mark and runs through the districts of the municipality. After its origins in the mountain forest of the northwestern Stromberg, it flows in east to south directions, crosses the five Kirbachtal towns of Häfnerhaslach, Kirbachhof , Ochsenbach , Spielberg and Hohenhaslach and flows into the Metter on the western edge of the towns of Groß- and Kleinsachsenheim , which continues to Enz and flows to the Neckar .

The Kirbachtal is next to those of Metter and Schmie the northernmost of the three large valleys that divide the Stromberg. The landscape of the Kirbachtal is characterized by forest, which in the middle reaches down to the edge of the narrow valley floodplain, and by vineyards on some sun-exposed southern slopes.
