description

Gruenberg existed before the Reformation a monastery of Cistercian nuns . The church from the 13th century belonging to the monastery no longer exists in its former form. The current wide nave was built in 1780 and 1781. It is covered with a gable roof and has a narrow vestibule with access to the side in the west and a recessed, square choir tower in the east , which was built in 1698. The apse adjoins it. The church tower has an eight-sided tower with a hood on which an open lantern sits. The windows in the tower are designed as biforias . The sacristy is located in the northeast extension .

The yoke of the choir has a Gothic ribbed vault . The rest of the interior has a flat ceiling . The balustrades of the galleries and the ceiling were decorated with stencil painting in Art Nouveau style and quotations from the Bible in 1904 .

The pulpit and the sound cover are on the right side of the triumphal arch . The church furnishings also include two statues of Mary .

The organ with 19 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1791 by Johann Gottlob Trampeli and rebuilt in 1905 by Heinrich Hegermann from Altenburg.
