description

From 1415 a church was mentioned on site. The church has existed in its present form since 1726. After a fire in the town center, it was 1721-1726 under Heinrich XI. rebuilt as indicated in an inscription . The Baroque , with a hipped gable roof covered hall church has a massive square choir tower . On top of it sits an octagonal Welsh hood with an open lantern in which two bells hang. The church bells were withdrawn in July 1917 for armaments purposes during the First World War. A small bell from the Kleinwolschendorf church served as an interim solution. Around 1923 two new cast steel bells were purchased for the church.

The interior has two-story galleries running on three sides . The church furnishings come from the construction time. The organ with 15 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1885 by Richard Kreutzbach. Repairs were due from 1840 to 1844 and from 1967 to 1971.
