Oberroßla Church
The Evangelical Lutheran , listed church Oberroßla is in the part of Oberroßla of Oberroßla / Rödigsdorf , a district of the city of Apolda in the Weimarer Land district in Thuringia . The church hall was built in the early 18th century despite its ancient appearance. It has a polygonal end to the east and is covered with a mansard roof. Apart from the segment-arched windows with keystones, no older structures are visible on the nave . The laterally offset church tower in the west has a square floor plan . It dates from the late Gothic period, only its octagonal superstructure and the curved hood sitting on it are from 1721, as indicated on the weather vane. The interior has been restored after a long decline 1982-86, in simplified form, it went baroque pulpit altar lost. The parapets of the three-sided, formerly two-story galleries are decorated with nine oval paintings with emblematic depictions of biblical figures. They come from an older cycle. The restored pulpit is from the 17th century. On both sides of the portal in the south there are tombs from the 18th century, which are decorated with sculptures . The organ with 12 registers , divided into 2 manuals and pedal , was built in 1860 by Emil Heerwagen .
