Kirschgarten is a small settlement in the Altenhaina district and thus part of the Haina community (monastery) in the Waldeck-Frankenberg district in northern Hesse . It is about 1 kilometer south of Altenhaina, on the Schweinfe , between Altenhaina and Halgehausen at the confluence of the district road 104 from Haina with the K 101.
The settlement is mentioned in 1214 as "Kürsgarten" and at that time belonged to the Löhlbach office . Around 1400, she has been to the Official stained Truth duly notarized .
In 1806 the pastor of Löhlbach made a list of souls in his parish and registered in Kirschgarten:
"5 men, 2 widowers, 10 sons, 5 women, 10 daughters, 10 horses, 1 foal, 11 cows, 7 young cattle, 106 sheep, 11 pigs"
The water supply of the city Gemünden and villages Old Haina, Halgehausen, Bocksdorf , Sehlen and Grüsen is based on the 1910-11 through the water purpose association built Gemünden-Bunstruth water line from the cherry orchard source to Gemünden and the 1967-built pumping station in Cherry Orchard.
