Halgehausen is a district of the municipality of Haina (monastery) in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .

The village is located in the basement forest west of the core town, on the Schweinfe .

The place was first mentioned in 1144 when it was acquired by the Aulisburg monastery . In 1358 Halgehausen consisted of just one manor .

In the course of the regional reform in Hesse , the then independent municipality Halgehausen voluntarily formed the new municipality Haina / Kloster (spelling at that time) on July 1, 1971, together with five other places . For Halgehausen, as for the other parts of the village, a local district with a local advisory board and mayor was established. The district of Haina / Kloster was designated as the administrative seat.
