Dodenhausen is a district of the municipality of Haina (monastery) in the northern Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .
The village in the southeast of the municipality is located in the valley of the north in the Kellerwald-Edersee nature park . The two highest mountains of the Kellerwald are grouped around Dodenhausen , the Wüstegarten ( 675 m above sea level ) in the east and the Hohe Lohr ( 657 m above sea level ) in the north-west. The 585 m above sea level is located south of the village . NN high Jeust .
Dodenhausen was first mentioned in a document in 1214.
On July 1, 1972, the previously independent municipality of Dodenhausen was incorporated into the municipality of Haina / Kloster (spelling at the time) on a voluntary basis as part of the regional reform in Hesse . For Dodenhausen, as for the other districts, a local district with a local advisory board and local councilor was set up.
