Haddenberg is the smallest district of the municipality of Haina (monastery) in the north Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg . The Fischbach settlement a good 2 km northeast belongs to Haddenberg .
The village is located in the east of the municipality in the middle of the wooded nature park Kellerwald-Edersee . The desert garden rises only 2 km to the east, at 675 m above sea level. NN highest mountain in the basement forest .
The place is mentioned for the first time in 1144. The village probably emerged from a miners ' settlement . About 700 m east of Haddenberg, at the foot of the desert garden, there is a historic Pingenfeld at the former iron mine "Haingrube", where a Roteisenstein camp was still being exploited until 1871.
On July 1, 1972, until then independent municipality Hadde mountain was in the course of administrative reform in Hesse on a voluntary basis in the community Haina / Kloster (former spelling) incorporated . For Haddenberg, as for the other parts of the town, a local district with a local advisory board and mayor was established.
