Hüttenrode is the second smallest district of the municipality of Haina (monastery) in the north Hessian district of Waldeck-Frankenberg .

Hüttenrode is located in the Kellerwald within the Kellerwald-Edersee Nature Park . It is 4.7 km northeast of the Haina core town and 2 km (as the crow flies ) west-southwest of the Bad Wildunger district Armsfeld . Kreisstraße  47 runs through Hüttenrode . A bus stop is frequented. The inhabitants live mostly from agriculture and renting out some holiday homes.

The place was first mentioned in 1327. At that time it belonged to the Haina monastery.

On July 1, 1971, as part of the regional reform in Hesse , the then independent municipality of Hüttenrode voluntarily formed the new municipality of Haina / Kloster (spelling at that time) together with five other places . For Hüttenrode, as for the other districts, a local district with a local advisory board and local councilor was established. The district of Haina / Kloster was designated as the administrative seat.

Hüttenrode forms a Protestant parish with Battenhausen and Löhlbach .
