Klára Kuzmová

Klára Kuzmová (born June 28, 1955 in Nové Zámky , Czechoslovakia ) is a Slovak archaeologist .

Live and act

Klára Kuzmová studied archeology at the Philosophical Faculty of the Comenius University in Bratislava from 1973 to 1978 and graduated with a thesis on the Celtic influence in the central Danube region. In 1982 she received the minor PhDr. In 1994 she became a candidate for science (CSc.) At the Institute of Archeology of the Slovak Academy of Sciences with a thesis on the Roman Terra Sigillata in the Province of Pannonia . There she worked with Títus Kolník and Ján Rajtár on the further exploration of the Roman military camp Kastell Iža-Leányvár . In 2004 she became a lecturer at the Philosopher Konstantin University in Nitra and in 2011 professor at the Institute of Classical Archeology at the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Trnava . She is the head of the Classical Archeology Department.

Klára Kuzmová had research stays in the Department of Provincial Roman Archeology at the University of Freiburg i. Br. , At the German Archaeological Institute in Rome , at the Institute for Classical Archeology and at the Institute for Prehistory and Protohistory at the University of Vienna , at the Archaeological Institute in Prague , at the Archaeological Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences , at the National Center for Archaeological Research at the Université catholique de Louvain , Belgium and at Uludağ Üniversitesi in Bursa , Turkey.

Her research interests include provincial Roman archeology , in particular Roman stone monuments and Roman ceramics , the Limes Pannonicus , Roman-Germanic relations and the theory of archaeological research.

Klára Kuzmová is a member of the Archaeological Society of the Slovak Academy of Sciences, Corresponding Member of the Hungarian Archaeological and Art-Historical Society and a member of the Rei Cretariae Romanae Fautores , an international scientific society for the study of Roman ceramics. She belongs to the Scientific Advisory Board of Trnava University and the editorial boards of Anodos magazine . Studies of Ancient world and the Anodos Supplement of the Department of Classical Archeology at Trnava University and the Carnuntum Yearbook of the Austrian Academy of Sciences .
