Klaus Fiedler (theater director)
Klaus Fiedler (born July 3, 1938 in Berlin ; † June 30, 2013 there ) was a German theater director .
Life
After elementary school and high school, Fiedler first learned the profession of cartographic draftsman. He then worked as a stage technician at the Maxim-Gorki-Theater in Berlin , before studying theater studies at the Leipzig Theater Academy from 1960 and was de-registered in 1963. From 1963 he worked as an actor at the Städtische Bühnen Quedlinburg and at the Stadttheater Freiberg . In 1968 he moved to Leipzig to the Städtische Bühnen , where he worked as a theater director until 1974. After working as a senior theater director at the Altenburg State Theater , he became Drama Director at the Rudolstadt State Theater in 1976 . Under his leadership, the Rudolstadt theater became more political: he brought critical topics onto the stage, which he staged in a contemporary way.
From 1979 he was a guest lecturer at the drama schools in Berlin and Rostock, the Babelsberg Film School and the Humboldt University in Berlin . During the period of his professional ban from 1987 to 1989 he worked as a night porter.
He led acting workshops in Berlin, Dolcedo and Colombo . Since 1990 he has worked as a director for numerous off-theaters and as an acting lecturer at the Berlin School for Drama and the Vorpommern Theater Academy .
Klaus Fiedler was buried in the Dorotheenstadt cemetery .
