Klaus Motschmann

Klaus Motschmann (born March 4, 1934 in Berlin ; † December 9, 2016 there ) was a German political scientist .

Life

Klaus Motschmann studied Protestant theology , modern history and political science in East and West Berlin . In 1969 he was promoted to Dr. phil. PhD . From 1972 to 1997 he taught as a professor of political science at the Berlin University of the Arts .

Motschmann belonged to the board of trustees of the Conservative Action . He was with Lothar Bossle , Gerd-Klaus Kaltenbrunner , Erik von Kuehnelt-Leddihn , Alfred Schickel , Hans Sedlmayr , Gustav Sichelschmidt , and Wolfgang Strauss editor of the Society of Conservative Journalism published (Bonn-Bad Godesberg) magazine Conservative today (1970 –1979), press organ of the Frankfurt Round Table . Conservative Today merged with Criticón magazine in 1980 . From 1980, following the merger with Criticón, he was co-editor and co-editor of the magazine. Furthermore, he was a permanent contributor, columnist and advisor to the weekly newspaper Junge Freiheit until his death .

He was a member of the board of the Evangelical Emergency Community in Germany and first signatory of the " Stop the Left Trend Action ".

Motschmann published, among other things, in the conservative Lutheran magazine Renewal and Defense of the "Evangelical Emergency Community". He was also editor of the publication for decades. In addition, he worked with the conservative Catholic organizations of the Christoferuswerk and the KOMM-MIT youth publisher.

In 2002 Motschmann was one of 22 professors who issued a joint statement against practicing homosexuals in the parish office. In 2010 he was one of the first signatories of the “Manifesto against the Left Trend” in the CDU.

Klaus Motschmann was assigned to the New Right in public opinion .
