Live and act

Klaus Sames first began to study Protestant theology and then studied medicine at the Westphalian Wilhelms University in Münster . He was a certified physician and 1971 with a dissertation on the subject of in vitro - biosynthesis and degradation of chondroitin sulfate and keratan from the basic substance of human costal cartilage and its relation to age for MD PhD . From 1971 to 1973 he was a research assistant at the University of Heidelberg and from 1973 to 1985 at the Universities of Marburg , Erlangen-Nuremberg and Hamburg . In 1981 he was at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg habilitation . Between 1985 and 1988 Sames was a lecturer at the Free University of Berlin , which in 1987 awarded him the title of adjunct professor for the subjects of anatomy and - for the first time in Germany - experimental gerontology . From 1988 to 1997 he held substitute professorships for anatomy at the Universities of Heidelberg, Freiburg , Zurich and Hamburg. From 1997 to 2004 he was an adjunct professor of anatomy at the University of Hamburg.

Sames spent four decades researching human lifespan extensions, specializing in cryonics . He is currently working as a scientific advisor for the American Cryonics Institute and is an honorary member of the German Society for Gerontology and Geriatrics , Board Member and Honorary Chairman of the German Society for Applied Biostasis and a member of the Anatomical Society , the German Society for Matrix Biology and the New York Academy of Sciences .
