Klaus Wucherer

Klaus Wucherer (born July 9, 1944 in Quakenbrück ) is a German engineer and manager. Until autumn 2007 he was a member of the central board of Siemens AG .

Life

After studying electrical engineering and mechanical engineering, Wucherer received his doctorate in precisely those engineering disciplines. In 1970 he started working for Siemens in Bremen . After a few intermediate positions, in 1983 he became head of the technical department, systems sales at Siemens SA in São Paulo , Brazil . In 1986 he took over the management of several Siemens branches in Erlangen and Nuremberg. There he and his team developed a new type of NC control that represented a technological leap in control technology. In 1996 Wucherer became a member of the automation technology division in Nuremberg, in 1999 a member of the board of Siemens AG and in 2000 a member of the central board of Siemens AG. There he was responsible for the main areas of Automation and Drives (A&D), Industrial Solutions and Services (I&S) and Siemens Transportation Systems (TS). Wucherer resigned from the Siemens central board in the fall of 2007 / spring 2008 in connection with the Siemens corruption affair and agreed in August 2009 to pay Siemens € 500,000 in damages.

From February 2010 to February 2011 he was Chairman of the Board of the chip manufacturer Infineon . He had been a member of the committee since 1999; the choice was controversial because of the Siemens affair.
