The Sticky adenocarpus ( Adenocarpus viscosus ) is a plant from the genus adenocarpus ( Adenocarpus ) and belongs to the family of the Leguminosae (Fabaceae).

description

The evergreen shrub reaches a height of between 30 and 100 centimeters. The growth is often flat but also upright. The dark green leaves are threefold and very close together. The narrow leaves are rolled up at the edge, tightly short-wool and sticky on both sides.

The yellow flowers have a balding flag that becomes about 12 mm long. The glandular, warty calyx has only single, simple hairs. Flowering time is in May. The legume is densely covered with protruding glands and scattered hairy.

The number of chromosomes is 2n = 52.

Occurrence

The sticky glandular gorse is endemic to the Canary Islands of La Palma , Gomera and Tenerife . The preferred location is the upper pine forest level up to altitudes of 1900 to 2200 meters. On La Palma, this type of plant is at the top of the list. On Tenerife, the sticky gorse grows mainly in the Cañadas del Teide .
