The Kleine Kinzig , also called Reinerzau, is a river in the Black Forest , between Freudenstadt and the Kinzig valley .
It rises southwest of Freudenstadt in the northern Black Forest and fills the Kleine Kinzig dam after only a few kilometers .
The Kleine Kinzig then flows through the elongated village of Reinerzau , which belongs to the town of Alpirsbach, and then continues south in sharp bends in the valley through the Schenkenzell district of Kaltbrunn -Vortal, before it finally flows into the Kinzig in the center of Schenkenzell.
Contrary to its name, the river is no smaller than the Kinzig, which runs almost parallel to the east . Its mean water flow at the mouth of 1.93 m³ / s is even somewhat larger than that of the Kinzig with 1.71 m³ / s; In addition, the Kleine Kinzig is around 3 km longer at around 20 km.
