history

Kleinsedlitz on a map from the 19th century

The origin of the place name is identical to that of the neighboring district of Großsedlitz (see there). "Klein Zcedelitz" was mentioned for the first time in 1501. In the following centuries, the spellings "Klein Seddelitz", "Klein Seidelicz" and "Klein Sedlitz" were in use.

Kleinsedlitz was created as a round hamlet and was later supplemented by a row of houses . The place was surrounded by 88 hectares of block and striped corridor. Kleinsedlitz was and is parish for centuries after Dohna in the Marienkirche . In the middle of the 16th century, Kleinsedlitz was an official village that was subject to interest payments to the Pirna office and, to a small extent, also to the Dohna church. Before 1548 there must also have been a Vorwerk . Since the early 17th century, Kleinsedlitz belonged to the manor or Kammergut (Groß-) Sedlitz. The administration of the place was incumbent on the Pirna Office from the 16th century and then the Pirna Court Office in 1856.

On the basis of the rural community code of 1838 , Kleinsedlitz gained independence as a rural community. In 1875 this was part of the Pirna Authority . Around this time, the neoclassical Kleinsedlitz Castle was built, which is now the seat of the CJD Heidenau. On September 1, 1933 Kleinsedlitz was in the city Heidenau incorporated . In 1951, a water tower went into operation on the Kleinsedlitzer Berg, which is now a technical monument.
