Klinkenberg is a historic district of the town of Jarmen in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district , Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania . The former village is located around 400 m southeast of the Jarmen city center, separated from the city by the rest of the former moat, and can be localized by the street names Klinkenberg and Burgstraße .

history

In the 16th century, Klinkenberg was probably fiefdom owned by the noble Podewils family , who had acquired extensive property around Demmin and Jarmen since the beginning of the century . In 1712 Joachim von Podewils sold Klinkenberg as well as the Barkow , Leussin , Zarrenthin and Kruckow estates with the feudal right for 10,000 thalers to the commissarius Franz von Glasenapp . His son Peter von Glasenapp received in 1739 after an inheritance settlement with his brothers for 14,900 thalers the fief with Zarrenthin, Leussin and the Vorwerk Klinkenberg. He was followed in 1787 by his niece Magdalena Charlotte Friederike (1744–1822), the widow of Major General Carl Franz Freiherr von Sobeck (1721–1778), who owned and usufruct these three goods for life. At the same time, her son, Chamberlain Peter Franz Heinrich Ernst von Sobeck, was granted feudal entitlement to these and other estates by the Prussian king.

Up until the 1820s there were only two houses (fireplaces) in Klinkenberg. Since the arable land of the town and estate was mixed up, a separation was carried out between Klinkenberg and the town of Jarmen in 1821 , during which the farmers from the Zarrenthin ancillary estate Leussin were relocated to here. The Vorwerk became a knightly farming village with 16 fireplaces. Until the separation, the deceased from Klinkenberg were buried in the Jarmen cemetery, but after the division the city refused to be buried. A separate cemetery therefore had to be created in Klinkenberg. According to the measurement table from 1880 ( Prussian new admission ), the cemetery was west of today's gas station.

In 1865 Klinkenberg had 118 inhabitants. 15 owners shared the Feldmark with 382 acres, that is around 98 hectares, of which 264 acres are arable land, 115 acres are paddocks and meadows, the rest was the land of the village. According to the measurement table from 1880 and PUM 1835, there were 3 windmills in the area around Klinkenberg, the oldest of which was there before 1835 and disappeared before 1880. However, it is not known whether they belonged to Jarmen or Klinkenberg, since the boundaries of the district are not precisely defined.

In 1895 the place had 154 inhabitants. Around 1900 Klinkenberg was incorporated into the city of Jarmen.

In 1967 trunk road 96 (since 2006: Landesstrasse 35) was relocated from Jarmen city center to Klinkenberg and passed over the newly built Jarmen bridge. The former Klinkenberg cemetery and the older homestead at the northern end of Burgstrasse were cut. Bundesautobahn 20 has been running around 200 m east of Klinkenberg since 2001 .
