Kobaky ( Ukrainian Кобаки ; Russian Кобаки Kobaki , Polish Kobaki ) is a village in the Ukrainian Oblast Ivano-Frankivsk with about 2700 inhabitants (2001).
Until 2018, the village was the only village of the district council of the same name in the east of Kosiv district , on March 6, 2018 the village became part of the newly founded rural community Roschniw (Рожнівська сільська громада / Roschniwska silska hromada ). It is located on the left bank of the Cheremosh across from Ispas and bordering Roschniv to the south . Kobaky is located 19 km east of the Kosiv district center and about 100 km southeast of the Oblast capital Ivano-Frankivsk . Territorial road T – 09–04 runs through the village .
The village, first mentioned in 1442 as Zdwyszenem , initially belonged to the aristocratic republic of Poland-Lithuania ( Ruthenian Voivodeship ), was in the Austrian Crown Land of Galicia from 1772 to 1918 , then from 1918 to 1939 in the Second Polish Republic ( Stanislau Voivodeship , Powiat Kosów , Gmina Rożniów ) and since 1939/1945 as part of the Soviet Union within the Ukrainian SSR and since 1991 of the Ukraine.
Personalities
In 1874 the Ukrainian writer and translator Marko Cheremschyna was born in the village .
