Unit leader

Unit leaders ( EinhFhr ) is in the German Federal Armed Forces the generic name and a generic term for a military leader of a military department the order unit . In most units, the unit leader is called company commander ( KpChef ), in the artillery troops and the former Army Air Defense Force battery chief ( BttrChef ), in training areas inspection chief ( InChef ), in flying units of the air force , the navy and the army aviation force squadron commander ( StffKpt ) and in non-flying units as well as in medical squadrons relay chief ( StffChef ).

Unit leader is a post and position . In the absence of the post holder, the position is transferred to another officer, for example the company operations officer or similar, within the framework of a fixed substitute regulation . While the representative assumes the position of the unit commander, he is referred to as a company commander or similar instead of a company commander or comparable in order to make it clear that he is not the regular post holder and unit commander.

Subordination

The unit leader is the superior of all soldiers in his unit according to § 1 VorgV . The leaders of the units are subordinate to him . The unit commander is under usually the leader of the parent association ( battalion or equivalent), with independent units a major unit . The chiefs of inspections are usually lieutenant colonels , frigate captains or corresponding ranks of the medical service .
